Preamble

LEGALYS and LEGALYS MAURICE, formerly G&P LEGAL®, are aware of the importance of ensuring data confidentiality, and have made a number of commitments in this area. This document informs you of the commitments and practical measures taken by the firm to ensure respect for your personal data. This privacy policy may evolve according to the legal and regulatory context and the doctrine of the competent authorities, in France as well as in Mauritius.


Data collected

The firm only gathers and processes data that is strictly necessary for the purpose for which it is being processed (data minimisation).


Purpose of data collection

The data processing carried out by the firm has an explicit, legitimate and specific purpose. Your data is processed mainly for the following purposes:

  • verification of customer identity as required by law
  • management and follow-up of your file
  • applications for residence and work permits, naturalization and citizenship
  • acquisition of property
  • managing your registration for events organized by the firm

 

User information

The firm informs you about the processing of personal data that it implements.


Data recipients

The firm will only disclose your personal data to authorized and specified recipients. The recipients of your personal data are the relevant departments of the firm and any authorised subcontractors. Some of these recipients are located outside the European Union, and in particular the following recipients: Mauritius. Similarly, some of these recipients are located outside Mauritius, in particular the following recipients: France (Paris and Reunion Island): France (Paris and Reunion Island). These recipients will be provided with data that is strictly necessary for the purposes for which it is processed (data minimisation).

The transmission of this data to recipients located outside the European Union is intended for the management and follow-up of your file, the management of your registration to events organised by the firm and personalised solicitation.


Data retention

The firm will only keep your data for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, and in compliance with current legislation.


Security

The firm ensures the security of your personal data by implementing enhanced data protection through the use of physical and logical security measures.


Your rights

In accordance with regulations, you have the right to access, rectify, delete, limit processing, portability and define the fate of your data after your death in relation to all data concerning you. You can exercise these rights by contacting us at contact@legalys.org, enclosing a copy of a signed identification document.


Personal Data

The information collected during the processing of your case is processed by computer for the purpose of following up your case: consultation, drafting of legal documents, pleadings. The recipient of the data is LEGALYS MAURITIUS (Mauritius), 27 Pope Hennessy Street, Hennessy Court 12th floor – PORT LOUIS or LEGALYS (France), 128 rue Roland Garros – SAINT DENIS DE LA REUNION (France).

You are informed that the person responsible for the file is, for France, Me. Sylvie SEVIN (sylvie.sevin@legalys.org) and for Mauritius, Me. Olivier GUERIN (olivier.guerin@legalys.org).

The purpose of processing this data is to monitor the case you have entrusted to us in accordance with the mandate given and detailed in the fee agreement.

The recipient is the lawyer handling your case. The recipient may also be a colleague, corresponding lawyer or postulant if his intervention is necessary. This data will be kept for 5 years from the date of the last legal act.

You may withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data at any time by writing to us by e-mail or letter.

You can lodge a complaint with the CNIL in France (www.cnil.fr) or with the Office for the Protection of Personal Data in Mauritius (pmo-dpo@govmu.org ).
